Mobile service providers Sprint and Nextel are discussing a potential merger of the two companies. A joining of the two would increase each company's customer base and market value.
According to FinanceGates.com, the merger would create a company with a customer base of over 30 million members. The joint company's market value would also increase to a hefty $35 billion.
The potential merger would place the new mobile service provider in a firm third position behind Verizon and Cingular.
